Billing User Guide

This program is prepared to make economics balances from the information included in the connections carried out in a Cyber-cafe. It allows us to get income and connections included in different time's periods. The information will be provided on a main window.

Applications's Execute

On Windows, make double-click in billing.exe. On Linux, open a console and write ./billing. For selecting any options of the application, move the mouse pointer over the item and click it on with the left mouse button. To exit the program, click on exit menu or click X in the upper right corner of the window.


Income Management

There are three kinds of operations:

  1. Operations associated with the income got during a current time period. The possible options are: Day, Month, Quarter, and Six Months.

  2. Income accumulated. This group tries to get the income accumulated during the life´s period of the application. There are two alternatives: the first one, income is accumulated by months and the other alternative, is grouping the income by years.

  3. To get income during a time period. This period must be set by the user. For doing this operation, there is an intermediate interface where the user must select the date from, the date to and the way of grouping. There are three ways: Days, Months and Years. The default option is Days. Regardless of the operation selected in the Menu of Income, the information´s format consists of: date, cost, time of connection and the percentage that represents the cost respect to the whole.

There are two kinds of ranking. The first is to get the dates where had upper or lower income included during the life´s period of the application. The second kind consists in getting the dates with upper or lower number of connection carried out. The units of time that the application show are: Day, Month or Year. The information is showed on the main window. The data´s format about operations is: date (depending on units of time selected: dd/mm/aaaa or mm/aaaa or aaaa), cost and time of connection. The last data to show will depend on the kind of the ranking: Income or Number of Connection. For Income, the application shows the percentage that represents the cost respect to the whole. For Number of Connection shows the number of connections included in that date.


This option menu contains information about the application. There are two submenús: Contents and About. On the one hand, Contents provides us information about the managing of the application, and the other hand, About shows the applications' authors and the license.


This functionality allows us to close and exit the application.

This feature allows us to make a plot from the information showed on the main window using one of the options included in Income Management or Ranking Management. It's necessary to click on the Plot button.

Report Generator

The exit of this feature is a text file with extension .txt which is visualized on the screen. This file contains all the information showed on the application's main window using one of including features in Income Management or Ranking Management. It's necessary to click on the Txt Button to make the text file. This file also contains a common header where includes the project, date and time execution and the name of the using operation. The reports generated will store in the same path where the application is placed. The file's name will be prices_aaaa_mm_dd__hh_mm_ss, in other words, the file's name is composed like that: prices plus the date and time when the user asked for the operation.

Show Calendar

For this operation is necessary to click on Button Show. Once done it, the application will show a calendar with the current day. The objective of this operation is to add more information to the currently provided by the main window.
